Academic Eligibility Checks The next grade check will be on January 23 at 4pm. These grade checks take place to promote academic success and to verify extracurricular eligibility. For the 2025-2026 school year, grade checks will take place during weeks 3, 6, and 9 of each quarter (on Fridays at 4:00pm). Students must pass at least 3 semester credits (6 classes) per semester to remain eligible. Career/technical classes meeting two periods count as 1 full credit. Students failing 2 or more classes, or who are behind pace in an online class (9+ assignments behind), will be declared ineligible for 1 week (Monday - Friday). Ineligible students, parents, and coaches will be notified via email by the AD before Monday. Rechecks occur the following Friday after 4:00pm. Students who receive a failing grade for the quarter or semester will be declared ineligible for 2 weeks. Fall semester ineligibility carries over to the spring semester. Spring semester ineligibility carries over to the fall semester. For more details on Eligibility Checks, see page 35-36 in the 2025-26 Student Handbook
Attention Juniors: ACT testing will be March 11th and March 18th. This is an optional test. If you are interested in taking the test, please stop by the Counseling Center and sign up for which day works best for you. The test costs $69.50 and payment is due at the time of sign up. Deadline to sign up is January 23rd.
Grades 7-12: Please join us for our January FCA event this Sunday, January 25, at 7 PM! Former Hi-Liner Autumn Hruska, owner of Sacred Beings, will be speaking, followed by a session at her studio or a game in the gym. See posters around the building for more information. New faces are welcome each month!
Snoball Dance Guest Form: If any 9-12th grade students plan to bring a guest to the Snoball Dance who is NOT a VCHS student, you will need to complete a guest form/permission slip for them (7-8th graders cannot bring non-VCHS guests.) This form can be found in the North Office or found in your grade level Canvas class. It is the guest's responsibility to have the form completed and signed by their principal before it is returned to VCHS. This form needs to be approved by Mr. Peterson and must be on file in the office by 4pm on Wednesday, January 28th. Also, all detentions need to be served by Thursday, January 29th in order to attend this dance.
January 26-31 is Snowball Week! Monday we will kick off snowball week with powderbuff volleyball! You can get a punch on your activity card if you attend powderbuff! Saturday will end snowball week with the dance! The hours for the dance for junior high are 6:30-8:00 and senior high 8:30-11:00. Cost for attendance if $5 a person.
