Academic Eligibility Checks The next grade check will be on April 10 at 4pm. These grade checks take place to promote academic success and to verify extracurricular eligibility. For the 2025-2026 school year, grade checks will take place during weeks 3, 6, and 9 of each quarter (on Fridays at 4:00pm). Students must pass at least 3 semester credits (6 classes) per semester to remain eligible. Career/technical classes meeting two periods count as 1 full credit. Students failing 2 or more classes, or who are behind pace in an online class (9+ assignments behind), will be declared ineligible for 1 week (Monday - Friday). Ineligible students, parents, and coaches will be notified via email by the AD before Monday. Rechecks occur the following Friday after 4:00pm. Students who receive a failing grade for the quarter or semester will be declared ineligible for 2 weeks. Fall semester ineligibility carries over to the spring semester. Spring semester ineligibility carries over to the fall semester. For more details on Eligibility Checks, see page 35-36 in the 2025-26 Student Handbook

8-11th graders: Student Council election process is starting for 8-11th graders! Pick up materials on the student council bulletin board. All items must be returned by April 13th. If you have any questions, reach out to Kyla Fetsch or Abby Wilmes!
VCPS Summer Student Maintenance Workers needed: Valley City Public Schools is accepting applications for part-time summer student custodial workers. Pay starts at $13.75/hour. We are looking to hire for several positions. Students age 15 years or older (by June 1st) are encouraged to apply. The duties include assisting current custodial staff with all general indoor cleaning that occurs over the summer. The hours are Monday-Friday 7:00AM-12:00PM from the beginning of June to the beginning of August with some flexibility to accommodate camps, vacations, etc. Applications are available in the North Office. Please submit the completed application to Alyssa Miller in the North Office by Monday, April 13th at 4pm. Questions can be directed to Mr. Peterson in the North Office.
